(2010) 3 9 After graduating from Linfield, Jordan went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he studied mechanical engineering, played club soccer, and participated in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. After graduat- ing with his degree in 2014, Jordan began work as an engineer, but within two months, God called him to take a step of faith and accept a teaching position at his old high school…in Mrs. Palafox's old class- room, no less! Currently, J. Brown, as he is affectionately known on campus, teaches AP Calculus AB and BC and Introduction to Engineering Design, and he is an assistant coach for the Boys Varsity Soccer Team. A man of many talents, he is also taking piano lessons and learning Hebrew, and when he's not at Linfield, you might find him playing with his sister's new puppy or watching his brother's USC football games. When he thinks back on his high school years, Jordan remembers how much he loved playing on the soccer team, particularly the last two years when his dad was the coach. He is grateful for the amazing relationships he developed with his teammates during that time, noting how much they laughed and had fun playing together, even while stay- ing super competitive on the field. Now as a teacher at the same school, Jordan says, "I love living in obedience to the life God has called me to. He knows what He's doing, and I feel like I was made for this. I love what I teach, but it's the students who truly give it meaning. - ing them grow into who God made them to be." jordan brown
