2017 HOMECOMING COURT MARIANA ARINO CHARLIE RUSSELL 1 9 I am a 17 year old senior, and this is my fourth year at Linfield. I absolutely love that Linfield has given me the opportunity to connect with my peers and teach- ers and to gain a phenomenal education, but most of all, I'm grateful this school has helped me have a deeper relationship with Christ. Though my path for college and the future is unclear, thanks to my mentors here at Linfield, I've discovered direction in Biological Science and Medicine. A few of my commit- ments are cheerleading, running in track and field, playing bassoon, and serv- ing at my church. My favorite verse is Deuteronomy 31:6, which says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." I love this verse so much because I know God is with me in all circumstances, and it reminds me of His love and character. My role model is my mom, Erica Arino, because she is a Christ-like woman who has shown me patience, kindness, and love despite times of trials. I am an 18 year old senior who has been at Linfield for twelve years. I have been involved in Linfield's theatre program for almost six years and am honored to have been in almost ten productions. I also run a weekly boys' Bible study here on campus. A few of my hobbies include reading my Bible, doing theatre, and playing chess. One of my favorite verses is 1 Timothy 4:14: "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, faith and purity." My role model is King David; he went from being wealthy and loved to becoming a hated man who lost everything he cared about. Yet in all this he never abandoned faith or obedience to HIS king, the Lord. I know my life will go through ups and downs, so I look to David as an example of how to do it right.
