Traditions of discipline, respect and mental training are a few of its bene- fits. Channel that excess energy into a great skill. Ages 7+ Wednesdays: 6:30–8:30 pm Saturdays: 12:15–2:15 pm Parents welcome Adults $8 per class, $6 with enrolled child or free with Fitness Advantage 4th Floor Studio B Family Karate With Tom Tanaka's expert instruction, learn basic karate punches and strikes, KIDS TRIATHLON TRAINING A four-week training session for junior WAC members who plan to participate in the Club's June 23 Kids Indoor Triathlon begins May 26. The session, taught by a WAC trainer and swim instructor, will focus on personal achievement. Kids will learn safety tips, stretching routines and pacing strategies, as well as how to main- tain a training schedule and keep a train- ing log. Training sessions will take place on stationary bikes, the track and in the pool. Intended for children ages 6–14. as well as endurance and listening skills. Saturdays: Ages 5–8: 10:30–11:15 am Ages 9+: 11 am–12 pm Classes combine from 11–11:15 am Parents welcome Adults $8 per class, $6 with enrolled child or free with Fitness Advantage 4th Floor Studio B Gymnastics Learn basic gymnastics skills in a gentle, fun, noncompetitive atmosphere. Saturdays: Ages 3+, Kiddy skills: 9:30–10:15 am Ages 4–5, Beginner: 10:15–11 am Ages 5–6, Beginner to intermediate: 11–11:45 am 8th Floor FTR-B BASKETBALL CAMP Let's Get It Started— Saturday Junior Basketball WAC kids have the opportunity to learn the game of basketball from Husky legend and former professional basketball player Donald Watts. Come out and learn bas- ketball fundamentals and basic rules to the game and have fun shooting hoops. Saturdays: May 5–June 16 Seven weeks, $105; trial day, $25 Starters divisions (ages 5–7): 9–10 am Mid-range shooters (ages 8–9): 10–11 am Prime-time players (ages 10–12): 11–noon Cost: $60 Saturday: 12–2 pm; May 26–June 16 Meet in the 8th Floor Gym Kids Indoor Triathlon The fifth WAC Kids Indoor Triathlon will take place on Saturday, June 23. Each participant will be awarded a finish medal, and the winners in each age divi- sion will be awarded prizes. The empha- sis will be on participation rather than winning, and children should leave with increased self-esteem.
