Get up-close at Boeing Classic L Annual tournament puts members next to pros on Snoqualmie Ridge yet another piece of awesome news for the annual WAC- supported Champions Tour golf event, this year slated for August 24–26. The Boeing Classic provides one of the best sports experiences in our region, delivering a picture-perfect setting to watch many of golf's legends compete at the best event on the Champions Tour. But WAC members don't need to wait until August to take part in the action. The tournament offers extraordinary opportunities to get involved early and to experience the event with an insider's perspective. Volunteers make up the heart and soul of the Boeing Classic, which supports Benaroya Research Institute and has been a WAC Community Partner since its inception in 2005. The loyalty, passion and generosity of WAC members and other volunteers set the weeklong affair at the top of its class. More than a thousand dedicated volunteers support the tournament's operations each year, and each receives a fantastic apparel package and a behind-the-scenes view of the week's activities. Volunteers do everything from help with the television broadcast to serve as course marshals. Perhaps one of the most exciting ways to experience ast we checked, Seattle-area native Fred Couples told The Seattle Times he'd play in this year's Boeing Classic at the TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge. That's the weeklong schedule of events is to play alongside one of the professional golfers. That's exactly what happens at the 24 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | MAY / JUNE 2012 Korean Air Pro-Am, set for August 22–23, in which amateur foursomes pair with a Champions Tour player. The pros and their caddies act as ambassadors of the game, engaging with their groups during a dynamic two days most never forget. Anyone looking for yet another chance to mingle with professional athletes will want to check out the Seahawks Rumble at the Ridge on August 20. The kickoff event of tournament week, it features Seahawks Ring of Honor inductees, NFL Hall of Famers, plus local and national celebrities. The Boeing Classic also offers an opportunity for business leaders to impress their clients. The 18th green skyboxes offer breathtaking views of the Snoqualmie Valley, which serves as the tournament backdrop, and offer a perfect setting to mingle with friends and associates. The Canyon Club, on the course's signature 14th hole, provides one of the best and most exciting vantage points. Both locations are sure to leave a lasting impression. WAC members who want to attend as general spectators will receive free entry with their membership card. Some 75,000 spectators are expected during the three days of the main tournament.
