Celebrate the 80th Annual Father Son Banquet with your greatest teammate(s) and enjoy all the traditional elements with a bit of a twist. Start the evening off with memory photos and some food. Because every athlete needs to eat, fathers and sons over age 12 will enjoy a baby spinach salad with candied pecans, queso fresco with citrus vinai- grette, and grilled halibut with jasmine rice and seasonal veggies. Sons under 12 will be fueled for the evening with a fresh fruit cup, and delicious fish and chips. For dessert, all will enjoy a trip to the WAC's own ice cream sundae bar. Part two of this fun-filled evening takes place after dinner as the WAC Athletics staff takes over the 8th Floor Gym and turns it into WAC Olympics headquarters. Compete for your gold medal in a variety of fun-filled relay races and sporting events. Work as a team and you may just end up on the WAC's own medal stand. Let's find out who the true gold medal-winners are at WAC Olympics LXXX. Learn tricks and tips on how to choose the most ripe and flavorful produce—and what to seek when buying fish and poultry. After collecting and tasting local items at the market, we'll continue the tour by tasting olive oil, vinegars, pestos and more at La Buona Tavola–Truffle Café and by sampling wine at The Tasting Room in Post Alley. Afterward, we'll proceed to the kitchens of Blue Ribbon Cooking in Eastlake for an afternoon of hands-on cooking instruction.
