Fitness Advantage Challenge Through May 31 SPECIAL EVENTS Lifeguard Certification Course May 4–6 & 11–12 The American Red Cross lifeguarding program prepares people to be effective lifeguards. Upon proper completion, participants will receive lifeguard, first aid, CPR and AED certification for the profes- sional rescuer. Participants must be able to swim 300 yards nonstop using a com- bination of front crawl and breaststroke. You also must be able to swim 20 yards to retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool and swim 20 yards back with the brick in 100 seconds. Must be at least This 60-day challenge celebrates the initia- tion of Fitness Advantage, formerly called Conditioning Contract. Members will earn a raffle ticket for every workout in a WAC Fitness Area during the challenge period. At the end of the challenge, a drawing will be held for one free year of Fitness Advantage, valued at $720. Bonus tickets will be awarded for pounds and inches lost and for completing each Workout of the Week. World Handball Player Championship May 18–19 The top eight handball players in the world will come together at the WAC on World's Largest Swim Lesson June 14 Be apart of an attempt to set the world record for the largest swim lesson ever held. WAC swim instructors will teach a swim lesson to all participants beginning at 8 am. Cities and countries around the world will be teaching at the same time. Join us for the fun and a post-attempt cele- bration. This will be a Guinness Book of World Records attempt. 8–9 am; all ages; free.
