The fast and high life It was a week to remember for father and son John and Frankie Stoner. First, the duo completed the Deschutes Dash Olympic-distance triathlon in Bend, Oregon. Fourteen-year-old Frankie won the boys 17-and-under age group, finishing in 2 hours, 34 minutes and 37 seconds, good for 56th overall. John placed eighth in the 45- to 49-year-old men's age group and 102nd overall in 2:47:48. Eight days following the July 14 race, father and son stood together on the summit of Mount Rainier. They completed the climb, part of Climb for Clean Water, with fellow WAC member Kevin O'Keefe and WAC Personal Trainer Mary Little, raising more than $15,000 to help bring safe drinking water to developing nations. The team hiked from Paradise to Camp Muir on July 21 and left for the summit at 1:30 am the next morning. Six hours later, they stood on Columbia Crest, 14,411 feet above sea level and just more than a week from the finish line in Bend. Let's Be Friends!
