Although I do not completely agree with that theory as there are things that we should not do, not consume or not be a part of at all, the saying has some validity. If you do a quick Google search asking the question "Are Energy Drinks Good For You?", you will get results like: Excessive energy drink consumption might lead to anger problems. One of the key ingredients in energy drinks, caffeine, can cause mood swings when used in significant doses. Energy drinks have been known to dehydrate your body, especially if used while exercising. Energy drinks can temporarily raise your blood pressure and heart rate. This can be particularly dangerous for people with underlying heart conditions. Even in healthy people, a spike in blood pressure can be harmful. Energy drinks have been linked to heart attacks and — in rare cases — cardiac arrest. Energy drinks have long been shown to cause an elevation in your heart and can trigger arrhythmias, such as Afib and rapid heart rate. Here is an interesting one considering most people drink them to work out and lose weight or get in shape! When you drink an energy drink, even if it's just one or every once in a while, your risk of becoming overweight or obese increases significantly. Here is one you might not have heard of: According to a new study, men who drink energy drinks risk 42% chance of hair loss. Below is a true story of a man in his 40's. Per his request, we will keep his name out of the story to respect his privacy. "I started drinking energy drinks to work long hours. I was building my business and working from home. Although I kept busy and had plenty of work, I often got bored of the monotony and needed a boost. I needed a mid- day stimulation to keep me going. Something that tastes good and stimulates my brain. Energy drinks did that. Red Bull never did anything for me, so I started tasting the different Monster drinks. Let me stop here and point out that, I do not drink alcohol, keep a clean diet and workout almost daily. I found a flavor that I liked a lot and drank one drink every two to three days. Before I knew it, I was buying them three at a time (3 for $5) and drinking one maybe two a day depending on the day, and how many hours I worked (usually between 10-12 per day). Add a cup of coffee to that, and my caffeine intake was in the 300 – 400mg per day. Of course, choosing a "sugar-free" flavor and drinking coffee without just a little cream and no sugar justified my behavior even more.
