As a society we have been seduced by fast, cheap, and convenient. We have been convinced that "others" are responsible for our health. Consequently, we have the highest rates of disease in the history of the world and our pets are living on average 7 years shorter than they did 20 years ago! But we don't have to be victims! We can take personal responsibility for our health and our pets health by becoming educated and empowered. Healthy living requires intentionally merging body, mind, and spirit into a daily "habit of good choices." Top 10 Healthy Living Tips 1. Attitude: pets entrain to the emotional energy around them. Choose to see the blessings in EVERYTHING, even the ouchy things. Start the day with thoughts of gratitude and end the day with a recap of what you are grateful for. Surround yourself with positive people and get involved with uplifting activities (serving others, performing acts of charity and kindness). 2. Exercise and grounding to nature: Movement is critical for good health. This ideally should include some high intensity exercise (appropriate for the age and health of the pet). Speed walking, swimming, rebounding, jogging, and agility trials are wonderful. Get creative and share your favorite exercise! 3. Feed a species appropriate, organic balanced raw diet with the proper proportions of meat, fat, bone, and organ meat. 4. Supplement with the essential (the body is unable to produce these in sufficient quantities) Vitamins, Minerals, Amino Acids, and plant-based Parent Essential Fatty acids . It is preferred to offer pets fermented foods like homemade organic kefir or sauerkraut. For specific gut repair, work with an integrative veterinarian. 6. Many pets that have been on processed foods for a long time are deficient in pancreatic enzymes. One could never go wrong by supplementing with digestive enzymes. 7. Detoxification: is not well addressed in traditional veterinary medicine, yet it is one of the most critical elements to living a healthy life. There are six organs of elimination, the kidneys, the colon, the lungs, the liver, the skin, and the lymphatics. Though they all benefit from support, the liver and the lymphatics deserve the most attention because of the workload that they provide. Contact me for more information on specific detoxification. 8. Mitochondrial biogenesis: mitochondria are the power houses that provide the energy that runs our bodies and regulates the communication network between the micro biome and the cells. The more mitochondria and the more robust they are, the healthier the individual. Simple ways to boost mitochondrial function include exposure to light (sunlight or full spectrum infrared therapy), ozone therapy, intermittent fasting, hormetic stressors (like extreme temperature, high intensity exercise and fasting) and proper nutrition. 9. Water: All water is not equal! Avoid water in plastic containers. Water should be highly filtered, structured, and ideally be infused with molecular hydrogen. Structured water refers to the size and shape of the water molecule. For water to get into the cell, it must pass through an "aquaporin" which is how water moves from extracellular to intracellular. Molecular hydrogen is produced by special machines from two methods. One method uses electricity and electrolysis, the other is a wet technology that does not require electricity. It uses a reaction between magnesium and water to create molecular hydrogen. Molecular hydrogen could be/should
