Page 20 | Abby's Magazine | www.AbbysMag.com Established in 1997, Abby's Health & Nutri on was founded by late community philanthropist, Abby Sayler. Abby was knowledgeable in whole body health and the intricacies of how the body works and what it needs to func on at the op mal level. Her vision was to create a place where the community could come together to receive advice (and hope) on health and nutri on topics, have access to supplements and vitamins, and choose from a variety of healthy food op ons. Abby's is more than your neighborhood health food store. In addi on to our wide selec on of vitamins and supplements, you will also find fresh organic produce, non-GMO and organic grocery items, a health & beauty department, as well as an assortment of local products from small businesses in our area. With the slogan "be er health Through Educa on" Abby's goal from day one has been to educate its customers. Abby's started with three employees – one being the current owner/general manager Victor and now has over 45 employees. We con nue to grow in popularity by offering professional nutri onal advice, free educa onal seminars, and classes as well as nutri onal consulta ons. Our mantra is to support local independent farmers, co-ops, and other community health organiza ons. We currently support over 50 independent locally manufactured products. Café Eden In 2000, we incorporated Café Eden into the general footprint of the store to offer fresh daily prepared meals without the use of an bio cs, hormones, MSG, GMO's, food coloring and other addi ves that we believe should not be in our foods. Café Eden is our in-store eatery that offers organic smoothies, organic juices, an organic salad and soup bar, baked goods, à la carte dishes, personalized meals, and catering. Abby's staff thoroughly researches each item in stock to ensure the highest quality to meet our nutri onal standards. Our hopes are to leave a legacy that will inspire our customers and community to build a healthier world for genera ons to come. Abby's Magazine Established in 2012, and first published in 2013, the full color gloss publica on is a combina on of educa onal ar cles and stories, with adver sements from our favorite supplement companies and tes monials from all walks of life. Abby's magazine is published bi-monthly and focuses on one theme per issue. Themes such as: Detox, Die ng, Sleep, Sports & Nutri on, Raising Healthy Children, Aging Healthy, Immunity, Weight Loss, %G, CBD, Stress, Dental health Pregnancy, and many more interes ng themes. You can read every issue of Abby's magazine on our website at: www.AbbysMag.com. Abby's Organic Community Farm Was started in 2014 and is our 3+ acre farm located in Lutz. Our raised-bed gardening approach allows community members to grow their own food and take advantage of learning opportuni es for both kids and adults alike! The 4+acres in Lutz was owned by the same family since the 40's, so we could determine how the property had been used for over 70 years. We have a lovely farmhouse that we have renovated keeping much of the original charm and construc on on the 3-acre community farm being developed. It has wonderful trees that will not interfere with gardening ac vi es and provide a great "canopy" for our educa on area. Unlike tradi onal co-op and CSA offerings, our emphasis is on raised-bed gardening, whereby people will be educated and given the opportunity to grow their own food in their own raised-bed at the farm or at their home. We also have several exhibits for growing with hydroponics, hor culture, microgreens, etc. We are plan ng a wide variety of fruit trees around the farm for use by all members. We have developed our educa onal area, greenhouse, compos ng, hydroponics and large community raised-bed and herb gardens and chicken coop. Future plans include renova ng our two-bedroom bungalow for interns, start our wind/solar exhibit, add a rainwater collec on, pe ng zoo, blueberry project and experiment gardens.
