NEW LOCATION: CHESTERTOWN, MD Open for Business Expansion in Maryland Dedicated to Customers Northeastern Supply has a credo of focusing on the needs of its customers and doing whatever is required to become or remain their preferred supplier. Acting on that doctrine, and listening to NE customers who articulated the need for another branch in Maryland, and one specifi cally covering the waterfront on the eastern portion of Maryland, NE selected historic Chestertown as its latest branch. "Customers have asked, and we have listened and have acted," said NE CEO Steve Cook. "The timing was right for this expansion. We hope to make it easier for our faithful customers who live and/or work in the area, and we welcome new Chestertown customers to the NE family." The store occupies about 14,000 square feet of a 20,000-square-foot building, with one loading dock, a huge yard and plenty of parking. The branch building was formerly a bowling alley built in the late 1950s, and sits on 3.25 acres. NE will occupy 7000 square feet of warehouse space, and 7000 square feet of o ce and counter sales area. The remaining square footage of warehouse space will be leased. The remodel of the location started in mid-summer of last year and was fi nished up with an opening on December 3, 2018. Rick Fox, NE's Region1 Operations Manager said, "Our valued customers have been asking us to please open a location in the area. Our Chestertown location will also close the gap between our Easton and Middletown locations—so that we are able to service more of this area. It is very convenient—on the main road in and out of Chestertown. The branch is going to be a full-service store focusing on our customers' needs in the plumbing, HVAC, commercial, well and septic and water treatment areas, featuring such brands as American Standard HVAC equipment, Bradford White Water Heaters, Goulds Pumps, Moen, Toto, and Vortens China, to name a few vendors." Branch Manager Nick Cook, and counter sales and warehouseman Josh Bedzuk, each have many years experience in the industry and with NE. Cook began his career at Northeastern a few years ago, starting in the warehouse. He worked his way up to counter sales, assistant manager and now Chestertown branch manager, after completing NE's Emerging Young Leaders Program. He said, "My retail background gives me a solid understanding of customer service and how customers expect to be treated, and customer treatment and service is what NE is all about." Nick Cook added, "I am really looking forward to meeting new customers and building relationships with everyone in the area. And, of course, all of us at NE are looking forward to providing the area with a great all-around supply house."
