Ready to Ship Charlotte Pipe–American made since 1901 Founder W. Frank Dowd recognized the need for plumbing pipe in the newly industrialized, post-war South, and built a small foundry in Charlotte, NC, to produce cast iron soil pipe and fi ttings. Although most residential drainage systems have transitioned to PVC, cast iron is still the go-to material for schools, hospitals, high- rises, and institutional buildings. And NE has gone with Charlotte Pipe in a big way. Pierce said, "We are stocking their entire line up to 15".
