The Medina family, Miguel and Chely from Mexico, joined the farm 2 1/2 years ago. They were classic farmers usually coming to the farm in their overalls and straw hats, which everyone loved. After joining they engaged their daughter Andrea to help and work with them taking care of community responsibilities, including taking care of chickens. Recently, Miguel was offered a position at the company headquarters in Atlanta so they have moved. But not before "handling down" their raised bed and farm membership to Andrea. She is currently in medical school at USF to be a neurologist! While we are currently on a waitlist to join the farm... who knew this would be so valuable that you leave it to your kids. Well maybe not just like that, but you get the idea. Family Legacy Farm Quotes "My grandfather used to say that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman and a preacher. But every day, three times a day, you need a farmer." -Brenda Schoepp "Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals & happiness." -Thomas Jefferson "We have neglected the truth that a good farmer is a craftsman of the highest order, a kind of artist." -Wendell Berry "Farming isn't something that can be taught. Each plant tells its own story that has to be read repeatedly." -Kelsey Timmerman, Where Am I Eating? "Life on a farm is a school of patience; you can't hurry the crops or make an ox in two days." -Henri Alain
