WheelsOfGrace.com | Volume 14 Issue 4 | 15 I came from a dark life of drugs and alcohol before God got ahold of my heart. In 2006, I found out my wife was cheating on me, and I was filled with rage. I vowed I would kill my wife's boyfriend. I stalked him for three months. I was finally ready and had the date set. I had my knife sharpened and ready for his throat. My plan was to wait for him and kill him at 7:45 am on a particular day. I jumped the fence to get into the property and waited for him to come out. The plan was to cut his throat and then watch him bleed out. God spoke to me and said: "you can't raise your son behind a glass window". I broke down in tears. At the time, I had a 16-year-old son and my son meant everything to me. Instead of going to kill the guy, I ended up going to church and a guy prayed for me. Later, I went to a Men's Retreat and God sent a gentleman, that was also a leader in Celebrate Recovery. Through the grace of God, I found the strength to get into a recovery group. In August of 2006, I accepted Jesus into my heart. A friend of mine invited me to his church and I have been going for 17 years now. I attend the Chula Vista campus of The Rock Church in San Diego, California. Today, I have forgiven the guy I was going to kill and have been clean for 17 years. I still talk to my ex-wife a bit, but sadly, my son is not speaking to me at this time. If you are reading this, that's a prayer that I can use. He is 33 years old, and I hope that someday God will restore that relationship. I started riding in 1986. In 2007, about six months after I accepted the Lord, I was involved in a motorcycle accident. A person had broken down on the ramp. I was able to avoid hitting them, but I laid the bike down and landed on my left side. The whole left side of my body was broken. I was in the hospital 21 days and spent the next two years recovering from my injuries. I was not able to ride again until 2008. My first bike was a Honda 750 Nighthawk. I had two Indians but today I ride a Harley-Davidson Road Glide and my favorite bike, the 2021 Road King featured in this magazine. One day a couple of years ago (2021) I was at San Diego Harley- Davidson and saw Age Sandoval wearing a Black Sheep patch. For the ones that are reading this and don't know, Black Sheep Harley- Davidsons for Christ is an International Motorcycle Ministry that focuses primarily on HOG (Harley Owners Group) members and ministering at Harley-Davidson dealerships. Today I ride with God and for God. I tell others about God and how he changed my life every chance I get. -David Zwicki now riding with Black Sheep HDFC as ZEE FROM ALMOST FROM ALMOST A M U R D E R E R A M U R D E R E R TO GOD'S WARRIOR TO GOD'S WARRIOR WheelsOfGrace.com | Volume 14 Issue 4 | 15 Photos by Peter Kaye Story by David "Zee" Zwicki
