Page 6 | Abby's Magazine - www.AbbysMag.com The curriculum will be age specific for the 5-10 yr age group and the 10-15 yr age group and the classes will be on a weekday from 10am to 2pm with a healthy snack break. Based on demand we are planning on a class each week, with the age groups alternating weeks. The classes will be very interactive with lots of "hands on" activities and fun exercises to learn about important aspects of nature. This current issue of Abby's magazine is discussing the EMF issues related to our health. While the effects (on the human body) of the various "transmitters" like cell phones and personal electronic devices can be debated, their excessive use cannot for a myriad of reasons. A mantra Attention all teachers and home school moms and dads... Abby's Farm will be conducting Nature labs beginning this fall!!! So, in addition to our field trips being scheduled for fall, we will be offering these classes monthly. This has been on our radar for at least two years and we are very excited that it is coming to fruition for our fall season, particularly since it will coincide with the work beginning on our new partnership with the Food Forest being developed in conjunction with The Plant More Project. The classes will be a great addition to your current science curriculum and may include but not limited to: STUDENTS 10-15 YR • Orientation (the compass) • Scavenger hunt • Air, fire, wind and water (Survival) • Sun and Moon • Barometric and Atmospheric pressure • Personal Environmental Responsibility (PER) STUDENTS 5-10 YR • Senses, nutrition • Water properties, sink, float • Plants, leaves and seeds • Sprouts, flowers • Soil, worms • Insects, Earth Day • Trees, recylcling • Farmyard animals • Clouds, water cycle • Wildlife ABBY'S Organic Community Farm Introduces THE NATURE LAB
