Ph.D., chief of cancer preven on research at New York's Preventa ve Medicine Ins tute, and Professor of Medicine at New York University. It showed the posi ve effect that chiroprac c care can have on the immune system and general health. Dr. Pero measured the immune systems of people under chiroprac c care as compared to those in the general popula on, and those with cancer and other very serious diseases. His ini al three-year study was of 107 individuals who had been under chiroprac c care for five years or more. The chiroprac c pa ents were found to have a 200% greater immune competence than those people who had not received chiroprac c care, and they had a 400% greater immune competence than those people with cancer and other serious diseases. Dr. Pero also found that the immune system strength with those under chiroprac c care did not appear to diminish with age. Dr. Pero said that he has never seen a group other than this chiroprac c group to experience a 200% increase over the normal pa ents. He also stated that in a clinical framework, he has never seen such a posi ve improvement in a group. Dr. Patricia Brennen, Ph.D., who had a team of researchers, that conducted a study that found improved immune response in her test subjects following chiroprac c treatment. The study specifically demonstrated the "phagocy c respiratory burst of polymorph nuclear neutrophils (PMN) and monocytes were enhanced in adults that had been adjusted by a chiropractor." The Chiroprac c School of Life Chiroprac c University, where Dr. Dan Durrieu graduated from, produced an incredible study from the Sid Williams Research Center in 1994. The research took a group of HIV posi ve pa ents and adjusted them over a six-month period. What they found was that the pa ents that were adjusted had a 46% increase in the number of CD4 cells which is a very important immune system component. These measurements were taken at the pa ents' independent medical center, where they were under medical supervision for the condi on. The control group (the pa ents that were NOT adjusted) did not demonstrate this drama c increase in immune func on, but actually experienced a 7.69% decrease in CD4 cell counts over the same period.
