They want authentic messages, authentic brands, and authentic interactions. That's what NE brings to the table ... history, people, interaction and authenticity. Most of Northeastern Supply's long-standing customers already trust them. They are most likely not Millennials. But many contractor-customers are on the brink of having Millennial leadership either through family succession or existing employees of current customers who branch o to start their own business. Future prospective customers will likely be more Millennial. They will probably observe Northeastern Supply's performance indirectly by what they hear on the street, what they see online or when NE contacts them directly with valuable information that demonstrates NE's position as a leader in the industry and trusted problem solver. R ecent studies on marketplace loyalty have shown that for existing customers, trust has been earned directly over time. For new prospects, interested potential customers will temporarily grant trust by what they observe indirectly, while building trust can be achieved by engaging customers in person, interacting with them through social media, by solving problems and by becoming an industry leader through a history of customer service. Typically, a history of customer service and the perception of authenticity drives Millennial and customer loyalty and trust. According to recent studies, only about 1% of Millennials claim that a compelling ad alone infl uences them. Millennials and all loyal customers need to know you before they'll trust you. They want transparency.
