13 In partnership with Austin Classical Guitar CARLOS PIñANA SAT, FEB 10 | DELL HALL | 8PM Experience the Rhythm, the Fire, and the Heart of Flamenco In the strictest sense of the word, Flamenco refers to the artform based on various folkloric musical traditions in Southern Spain, and includes cante (singing), toque (guitar playing), baile (dance), jaleo (vocalizations), palmas (handclapping) and pitos (finger snapping). Carlos Piñana comes from a long line of flamenco artists in Alicante, Spain. He is the grandson of Antonio Piñana, patriarch of the cantes mineros, and his father is the well-known guitarist Antonio Piñana. Carlos has lived and breathed flamenco since he was a young child, and is considered a modern day legend in his own right. Come experience a night of music you won't soon forget! ■ LONG CENTER PRESENTS 2017-2018 W I N T E R/S P R I N G S E A S O N 13 CARLOS PIÑANA (PHOTO BY MIGUEL PEÑALVER)
