Waters Ave, Suite 500 Tampa, FL 33634 PH. 813-882-8181 body heals the cut. When we fall asleep and we stop working, our body continues to pump blood throughout our body, our heart continues to beat, we continue to breathe, etc. Why would we want to hurt our body by giving it more obstacles to deal with? Let's nourish our body so that it can always work at its greatest potential without needing to work extra hard just to get blood to your brain. I mentioned in the beginning of this article about the nervous system getting affected by obesity. In Chiropractic, we focus on the nervous system and how interference of the vertebrates in your spine can affect the entire communication between your brain and body. These interferences are called subluxations, and they are caused by thoughts, toxins, and traumas. Thoughts may be stress, toxins may be the food we eat that cause inflammation in our body, the traumas being maybe a fall or a car accident. We don't want to create any kind of subluxation along our spine. We want to nourish the body so that when we go to our Chiropractor and they locate, analyze, and correct your subluxations you are able to adapt to this adjustment, and live a better functioning life. Let's say your chiropractor found a subluxation at the very first bone of your spine (C1 or also known as the atlas), once this bone has been aligned after the adjustment, now you are clearing up the interference which now allows you to have increased blood flow to your brain through the vertebral artery. Yet, because you have lots of inflammation and increased plaque in your arteries from the high blood cholesterol, that blood is now blocked from going to nourish the brain as it should be able to. Therefore, it is crucial we nourish our body with nutrient enriched foods so we can hold our adjustments, and live a high functioning life. At Family Health Chiropractic Dr. Dan Durrieu, works with his patients by correcting their subluxation and providing health talks and nutrition workshops in order for his patients to get educated into living their best lifestyle. This article was written by Dr. Dan Durrieu and Alexandra Durrieu, a chiropractic student at Sherman College of Chiropractic.
