well as all sins, is eternal death, BUT "the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23) God created mankind and he loved them. But in the very beginning, man and woman chose a different path and followed the lies of the devil and the desires of the flesh. Hell was never created for people, but for the devil and his fallen angels (Matthew 25:41) but when people choose (directly or indirectly) an earthly lifetime of rebellion against God's law, we inherit and share in the devil's doom. Hell is a real place, a destination with all of the reality and sense of presence as this life. It is described in the Bible as "a lake of fire" (Revelation 19:20, 20:15, Matthew 5:22) Hell lasts "for ever and ever" (Revelation 14:11, 2 Thess 1:9) with very real suffering (Matthew 13:50) As we have already established, Hell was not created for humans, but for Satan and his angels, but when Satan seduced Eve in the garden (and Adam followed) she and her husband inherited Satan and his minion's punishment - AND THAT my friends is what necessitated the Gospel or "Good News." Listen to what Jesus said about this. "God loved us so much, that he gave his only Son, (Jesus Christ died on the cross in our place, went to Hell Himself and took back the keys of hopelessness for all of mankind!) that whoever believes (the word "believes" here does not simply mean to intellectually embrace the historical reality of the man Jesus of Nazareth, but to "believe in" as one would believe in a rope bridge to be reliable to bear his weight, or to believe in one's father when he says "JUMP!" to his child.) ...in him should not perish but have eternal life. (Wait! I thought we were guilty of being sinners? We are indeed - but Jesus took on Himself the penalty of that sin, on the cross, and we benefit from His sacrifice if we believe...i.e. put our trust in and follow Him!) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." (John 3:16-18) So because of my sinful nature, I am not right with God, but Jesus Christ BECAME my RIGHTEOUSNESS and now I am right- with-God as if I have never sinned. What happens when I continue to stumble and fall short of God's expectations? He continues to forgive me with more grace and mercy. Jesus said in John 3:36, "Whoever believes in the Son has [has it NOW] eternal life; whoever does not obey
