Customize Your Tri-Glide The Harley- Davidson three wheeler has come a long ways! What was once just a slow moving, hard riding "servi- car" (1932-1973) used for delivering the mail or ice-cream, or a few specialty companies offering aftermarket bolt-on rear ends (Lehman, DFT, California Sidecar, etc), has now become a fully engineered machine, redesigned from front to back, all the way from Milwaukee! Today, Harley-Davidson offers a couple of models including the Free Wheeler and the better equipped Tri-Glide which is even offered as a special edition CVO. Some high end builders are taking these stock models and turning them into truly monstrous customs machines – but that is for another time! (OK...here's one example below) What we are showcasing in this edition, however, are the following mild customs, affordable to most riders with a few nice add-ons and custom paint. Even so, this isn't your grandpa's trike – or is it? Mild customization may include paint, wheels, tire size, handlebars and an unlimited number of add-ons from Harley- Davidson or any number of independent designers. But if you REALLY want to go crazy and have the money to do so, a trike can be stretched, chopped, lowered and anything else you can imagine. The new Tri-Glides include the Kool Trikes smooth riding independent suspension, the "SteeRite" raked triple tree's for comfortable steering and the handle bar mounted brake lock replacing the cumbersome stock parking brake system. Trikes are not for everybody but they're not just for old people either. Trikes offer a stable ride, with greater comfort for the passenger and more storage than most two wheelers. Check out these beautiful machines below! b
