104 | AD Today 2019 | ALL IN WELCOME TO THE AD FAMILY George Graham President, Bearings & Power Transmission Division AD Jeff Mattson President & COO ISC Companies, Inc. continued from page 103 We interviewed legacy members from each of these groups to discuss what it's meant to them to become AD members and what features of and/or expertise from their previous organization they're excited to introduce to the AD community. Question: What aspects of AD excited you most and inspired you to become an AD member? REBATES & INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS "First and foremost are the supplier programs we've been able to deliver as AD had programs with a few key suppliers that IDC didn't have," said Graham. "Even more important are the new and significantly enhanced programs we've been able to negotiate since the merger; all of our collective members are going to see improved financial results from supporting AD suppliers as a result of the two groups coming together." "We were attracted to AD by the rebates, pricing, and access to SupplyForce and are most excited about access to new vendor programs with improved rebate negotiation power," said Mattson. ACCESS TO eCOMMERCE SOLUTIONS "I believe that eCommerce is one of the most important and yet most daunting issues that independent distributors are facing today, but as a smaller cooperative, IDC didn't have the ability to tackle this issue in the manner that AD has," shared Graham. "Legacy IDC members are now afforded an opportunity to capitalize on the significant progress that AD had already made in terms of data collection and normalization." Rob Dewar President, Industrial & Safety Division – Canada AD "Our members were truly excited about AD's eCommerce program with access to millions of highly-enriched SKUs," Dewar said. SIZE & SCALE "We were most excited about the scale of the organization, its history of success across multiple industries, and the bringing together of a large percentage of major independent distributors in the Bearings & Power Transmission industry, which will deliver additional buying power and access to new suppliers," shared Hughes. "As it's said, 'Together, We Win.'" "The merging of both organizations increases the strength of the member companies and the organization as a whole," Geary agreed. continued on page 107 "Legacy IDC members are now afforded an opportunity to capitalize on the significant progress that AD had already made in terms of data collection and normalization." – George Graham, AD
