Known for the freshest sushi in town, Chiso in Fremont is opening its doors to WAC members who want to learn how to make sushi. In this private hands-on class, you'll learn the important role rice plays and how to prepare it correctly. You'll also learn about the five different kinds of sushi: hand, skinny and fat rolls, California-style rolls, and nigiri. After a demonstration of each kind by owner and sushi expert Hirohiko Kirita, you'll be given ingredients, supplies and expert assistance to try your hand at rolling your own. After you enjoy some of the fruit of your labor, it's time for a little friendly competition. Selected group members will be chosen as head chefs and charged with leading their team in creating the tastiest, wildest and wackiest rolls you can think of from secret ingredients.
