4 | www.ChildrensHope.com CHILDREN'S HOME Over the years, our ministry has significantly grown, yet our Children's Home remains the heart of our efforts in Jacmel. From the moment we discovered 16 Haitian children living in a tent after the 2010 earthquake, our mission has been focussed on caring for vulnerable children and families in Haiti. We care for 64 children, each legally placed with us through Haitian Social Services. Their stories vary: some have lost one or both parents, some have faced abandonment, others have experienced family tragedies, and some have come from unsafe environments where they cannot stay. We take full responsibility for raising these children and we take that responsibility very seriously. In 2024, we cared for 9 children on a temporary basis, and when their families were ready, the children were reunited with them. Of the 64 children, 10 are young adults living in our transition home program. There, they continue their education at community college or university, they receive mentorship from home parents, and overall preparation for adult life. Our commitment goes beyond providing basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, and safety. We love and care for our children, share the love of Jesus with them, and show them the hope and future God has for them. Education is a priority, and we ensure our children have regular medical and dental checkups, psychological care, and nurturing parental guidance. We aim to help these precious children mature into contributing members of their community.
