In times when food is scarce, receiving a bag of rice and beans has become a lifesaving experience for many, helping to fill their plates and nourish their bodies. The elderly are the most at-risk and food insecure of those that we minister to in Haiti. For many years, we have organized a monthly food distribution to support the elderly in our community. Many of those we serve through our food distribution programs have faced significant hardships due to rising costs and food scarcity. Starting in 2021, social unrest disrupted supply chains, restricting the distribution of food and supplies nationwide. This led to rampant inflation and limited access to food and essential goods.
