This is a huge program to develop in a year. But our Haitian staff felt like
there was even more to do. They felt the need to reach people in desperate
need of mental health care, but who are unable to get to the mental health
center. So they go out to meet them where they are. Prisoners in the
prison, homeless children in the street, students at school, the elderly in
their homes, children and adults in the community. They are having a huge
impact on the mental health crisis in Jacmel.

"Since 2020, I have lived with constant fear and stress. I could not sleep, my thoughts were heavy, and I
felt myself sinking deeper into despair. There was no one to talk to, no place to turn. Through Children's
Hope's mental health program, I found people who listened, who understood, and who reminded me
that I am not alone. Slowly, I am finding peace again. I have hope that my mind and heart can heal, even
in the middle of all the struggles around me."
