Have you seen the new tracts and brochures that are available in the Black Sheep online store? ere is a new tri-fold handout that tells all about Black Sheep. We also have material about joining the flock and bringing the Gospel to those who ride. We have greeting cards that you can use to write a special note, and we have some items that help share the gospel. Years ago, Marty created his King of Hearts card that shares 10 things every biker should know. Now, we have a new tri-fold handout that shares the Romans Road Black Sheep style. What I wanted to share with you this month are some ways you can use these tools effectively. First, Black Sheep has never been a ministry that goes around handing out tracts like the 4 Spiritual Laws or pressuring people to take something that they may not want. at has its place, but it has never been a significant part of what we do as a ministry. We prefer to get to know people, to chat with them, to pray with them while shining boots or flipping burgers. But we want people to know about Black Sheep, and, more importantly, to know about Jesus Christ. is is why we create useful tools. Oen, we place our pamphlets on the table in our boot shine booths and allow people to pick them up when they show interest. Or, maybe we have them in our vest pockets, saddlebags, or touring packs to share when the time is right. At the last Gathering in Dallas, Dee and I passed out some Wordless Bible cards that we created to help our members have a tool that helps them share the gospel. e purpose of those cards was not to have our members hand them out to someone who doesn't believe, but to help our members share the good news about Christ and make them more comfortable in doing so. Our new tract, Heaven or Hell, is designed to be given to someone who may be interested but doesn't have the time to talk. Or, maybe someone comes by your booth and sees the shiny, colorful pamphlet and decides to pick it up and read it. Great! What we would prefer not to do is to become a ministry known for trying to shove tracts in the hands of unsuspecting people or people who don't want one and will only throw it away. What we desire is for you to have some tools to help bring someone who is interested closer to a knowledge of God. By the way, one of the ways Dee and I have used the greeting cards is by placing a $5-10 gas card in them with a handwritten note to say Merry Christmas to all the employees at our dealership. ey've come to expect their Black Sheep Christmas cards from us every year! We hope you'll find a way to use the tools and resources available to promote Christ and even Black Sheep. If you have an idea for a new tool, please reach out to us at Chaplain@ bshdfc.org.
