2023 Regional Rally A Massive Success We believe it was George Peppard who played the part of John "Hannibal" Smith on the 1980's action-adventure television series "THE A TEAM." He was famous for saying, "I love it when a plan comes together!" Oddly enough, that is exactly what event planner Bill Ream (Treasure Valley BSHDFC President: Photo above and below)) said when describing their long anticipated Gem State Desert Rally." (Sept. 7-10) Nearly 100 Black Sheep descended upon Meridian, Idaho, coming from as far away as New York and Pennsylvania! (There were seven BSHDFC regional directors present!) It was four days of Black Sheep reunion hugs and making new friends with the HOG members from High Desert Harley-Davidson. The event included all of the usual fun, food, games and prizes as well as beautiful rides through Southwest Idaho. Pastor Greg Diamanti (Santa Maria, Ca. BSHDFC) was the guest speaker and predictably did a terrific job! On Sunday morning, fourteen of those HOG members joined the Black Sheep for services at Legacy Church. A very lucky rider won $100 for discovering the designated "mystery person" that was wandering through the event, waiting to be discovered. It was Ream's creative way of mixing up the Sheep with the Hogs so as to introduce everybody to some new friends. (Nice move Bill!) Ream encourages other BSHDFC regions from around the United States to come together for a similar event. What looks like a nice vacation becomes an opportunity for meeting new friends, sharing our faith and demonstrating who the Black Sheep are. Many of you who were at the Gathering in Dallas last year will remember "Danny" who gave his life to Christ. This same Danny is a member of the High Desert HOG chapter and was front and center for everything happening during the rally. Thank-you for preserving these memories for us in such a masterful way! Ream confessed that planning and hosting an event of this size and magnitude came with plenty of challenges including unavoidable last minute changes and cancellations. Nevertheless, the people came, the weather was PERFECT and everybody had a terrific time. Furthermore, BSHDFC put their best foot forward and God was glorified! a
