UPDATES FROM the President Laz Alba/BSHDFC Intl. President è Board Changes It's interesting that one Alaskan Black Sheep has completed his service to our BSHDFC board as the first Alaskan Black Sheep comes onto the board. Grant Jones' term on our international board concluded in December, 2022. We thank Grant for his exceptional service and for the invaluable work he did for our ministry during that time. After much prayer and consideration, our board unanimously chose Doug Boyd (Photo) to serve as our new board member. Doug has faithfully served and represented BSHDFC well for many years. Doug originally hails from the Great State of Alaska, born and raised there and lived there for fifty-four years. Doug and wife Shelly started the first Black Sheep Chapter in Alaska in 2005. In 2007, they moved to Arizona where they presently live. Doug served as our National Chaplain for a time and in various roles in Black Sheep Arizona. Most recently, Doug and Shelley are helping the San Tan Valley BSHDFC set up and develop the ministry to the American Legion Riders there. Black Sheep, will you please join me in thanking Grant for his service and congratulating Doug on his appointment. v We've seen some chapters replicate some of our stickers without prior approval from the office. We've addressed this issue with specific chapters. We need, however, to provide a reminder taken from our current bylaws. è Use of the Patch/Logo of BSHDFC (a) The use of the image of the BSHDFC patch is reserved for its members in limited cases. The primary purpose for limiting the use is to help maintain the quality of Black Sheep products and resources and to insure a working financial base for the International Ministry. (b) The name and logo may be reproduced (only with prior approval from the International Office) for promotional purposes such as: a. Letterhead, envelopes and business cards. b. Banners and fixed signs. c. Motorcycle accessories that have been approved by the International Office. d. Stickers or poker chips used for Bike Blessings. (c) The patch or logo may NEVER be reproduced or sold a. On articles of clothing that have not been provided by the BSHDFC store. b. Stickers, patches, pins or cups. 20 c. Anything created for resale. d. Logo or profile photo for social media purposes. (d). Chapters are encouraged to design and sell chapter tee-shirts and other products, using the ministry's name (but not the patch/logo) with their own design. Contact the International Office if you need help with design or finding a resource to produce your designs. v è 2022 100% Wool Awards Black Sheep HDFC is comprised of amazing, skillful, gifted, passionate, loving and serving people. We thank our Lord Jesus for each of our members that wholeheartedly and sacrificially serve HOG, dealerships and the biker community. Earlier this year, the board decided that BSHDFC would annually recognize one chapter and one area contact(s) for their exemplary service, hard work, dedication, and commitment to BSHDFC's statement of faith, vision, and mission within a calendar year. We're so blessed to announce that the recipients of the 2022 - 100% WOOL Award are the Ventura, California Chapter and Richard and Carol Mills - Area Contacts, Connecticut. Congratulations to you both. BSHDFC International Board
