members (retired and extremely dangerous) because they are still very active and effective. A retired member is not someone who has simply quit and while some members indeed have good reasons to quit the ministry (job changes, family needs, etc.) too many quit the ministry they have been called to for shallow reasons and carnal excuses. Maybe someone hurt their feelings. Perhaps they weren't relected to a position. Some left because the dues were too high. There is no room in sanctification to surrender, quit or compromise. It still baffles me when a church member refuses to tithe on their income or find their place in local ministry. I'm always intrigued by church people who consistently come to services twenty or thirty minutes late and then only every two or three weeks. True sanctification calls for devotion and commitment. I am sorry to say that BSHDFC has members who rarely show up for a chapter meeting or an opportunity for fellowship or service. Some haven't paid dues in many months or have just slipped off the radar and are not to be found. When I meet them in the grocery store, they look surprised and say things like, "I thought you knew" or "I've been meaning to tell you." (I often heard these things when I was pastoring a local church.) I love this ministry! I am proud of what WE have accomplished in two decades. I am eager to see what younger leadership with fresh vision can do for our mission. I have no qualms about inviting a new generation of riders to take the lead. I look forward to a day when I can only read about what great strides this ministry has reached in Christ's name. I am not concerned about someone doing a better job than I have. In fact, I pray that my replacement will far surpass what those of us have done in the first 22 years. Sanctification is a wonderful word. To know that you have been CLEANSED and SET APART for a special purpose or mission by God should swell our chests with holy pride and satisfaction that we are not mearly existing but thriving in Christ's name! Early in my ministry I was told by a veteran pastor, "Son, if you have been called to preach the Gospel, don't ever stoop to be come a king." I am cleansed by the blood, set apart by the Spirit and even though I will retire in May, I have no intentions of ever quitting Black Sheep: Harley-Davidsons for Christ. l This Is What We Do Joe & Michelle Englert It was Thanksgiving 2019, San Antonio Texas, home of Javalina Harley Davidson. Our dealership sponsored an event to feed the new recruits who were going through basic training at Lackland AFB. There was a ride that had police escort from the dealership to the base that would meet four bus loads of recruits who would be escorted back to the dealership for a full Thanksgivings dinner. Many of the Black Sheep from the Alamo Chapter participated in this joyous event and it turned out to be a moment we felt needed to be shared Sheep around the country. During the dinner, HOG members were giving the recruits their personal phones to call home since during their training they are not allowed contact with their families. When Michelle gave her phone to a recuit named Paul, God opened a door. The young soldier became so emotional during the coversation, he was unable to share how the conversation went. Michelle was comforting him when he told her his father had found a lump and that was cancerous. As any mother would do, she gave him a hug and asked if he knew Jesus. He confessed that he prays often and so she started to pray with him. This photo captures the moment that had many of us tearing up. Later that night, Michelle called the number on here phone that Paul had called, and his father answered, and he too was very emotional. She told the father that his son was in good spirits, and she hugged him and prayed with him. She then said she would forward this picture to him and he responded with great appreciation. As a member of this great organization of brothers and sisters called blacksheep, this moment represents what the gospel of Jesus means by loving our fellow brothers and sisters. This is what we do. l
