A n air source VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system, which is engineered to cut e ciency losses and to minimize, or use no ductwork, saves on the cost of large distribution fans, multiple water pumps operation and water piping. Like ductless minisplits, VRFs, also known as variable refrigerant volume (VRV), use refrigerant as the cooling and heating medium. This refrigerant is conditioned by a single outdoor condensing unit, and is circulated within the building to multiple fan-coil units.
