www.northeastern.com | Northeastern Exposure 24 – 1 3 We have often said that at Northeastern Supply, "It's the People ..." that set us apart from our competitors. We have great people working for us and with us, and it is people who can make a di erence for YOUR business as well. We are always on the lookout for top talent. We use our own employees to network for others they know, or whom they have interacted with, and we study the industry, trade shows and those we do business with to help cultivate talent contacts. HOW DO CONTRACTORS ATTRACT NEW TALENT? Be creative. Search for talent as you would search for information or products ... and use innovation. Seeking apprentices or giving presentations at local high schools, colleges and trade schools is a way to fi nd and attract talent and put yourself ahead of the competition. Today, job searchers are actually job shoppers, so your company's reputation is more important than ever. Job seekers have options, and in order to attract top talent, your company needs to set itself apart from the competition. Building a strong employer brand means marketing everything you do, both in your industry and FOR your people. That may mean paying for employees to take training classes; making education part of their job with paid-hours to study; and showing them that part of your company culture is taking care of your people.
