ASK Abby I have been diagnosed with rosacea. I have tried sulpha-type skin products, antibiotic lotions, special cleanses and Accutane. My face got worse! Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. - Dee Hi Dee, Rosacea is a condition causing excessive facial blood vessels. Some of my clients have reduced the appearance of these capillaries with Angiostop by Chi Enterprises. The Angiostop capsules can be purchased by the capsule as they come 120 per bottle and are expensive. Just one or two a day has reduced redness dramatically. Let me know how it works for you. Sincerely, Abby I am an 82-year-old female who recently had cancer surgery, and 4 months of chemotherapy. I am chronically tired and fatigued. Can you recommend a supplement that would give me some relief? Thank you. - Faith Dear Faith, It is important to make sure you are getting enough oxygen, so have your MD check your daytime and nighttime oxygen levels. Oxypower by Chi Enterprise will increase energy within 30 minutes. I would consider B12 shots or sublingual methylcobalamin (B12) and Ubiquinol (if you are not on coumadin (warfarin). Also, consider a coenzymated B Complex and a stress reducer. Sincerely, Abby Abby offers Free Consultations - Please call (813) 996-6999 Monday - Friday from 10 am - Noon to make your appointment Do you have any information regarding the benefits or other considerations of drinking coffee and tea? - Peter Hi Kate, You can find literature on the pros and cons of drinking coffee. I am a proponent of Peter D'Adamo's blood type diet. D'Adamo does not recommend coffee for someone with O type blood (the most common) because of the acid content. However, the Life Extension brand sells a very low acid coffee rich in antioxidants. We also sell a caffeine free version if theobromines are an issue (fibrocystic breasts). Be aware that coffee as well as black tea are dehydrating and extra water consumption is required. There are dozens of herbal teas. Some such as green or white tea are rich in health promoting antioxidants. I suggest drinking teas that work with your blood type. You can pick up a free blood type list at Abbys or on our website, www. abbyshealthandnutrition.com. Sincerely, Abby I am a heart patient and I had two stents inserted in 2008 after a heart attack. I refuse to take a statin drug. What can I take instead? Thank you for your help, you helped me greatly on my last problem. - Gail Hi Gail, There are alternatives to help lower your LDL and raise your HDL. Increasing fiber such as flax seed meal will help. Cholesterol Pro, by NOW Foods has worked for many clients. If you are not on Warfaren, Nattokinase Plus may help you. Keep in touch. Sincerely, Abby It doesn't matter what I eat or how much, my stomach never feels satisfied! I take digestive enzymes and tried hydrochloric acid, but it upsets my stomach. The only time that I felt a calm stomach was the brief time I took Prilosec. My naturopath advised me to stop taking it. So, what do I take? I do not have an ulcer. - Teresa Dear Teresa, I highly recommend Digestron by Chi Enterprises, 2 before each meal. Do not drink fluids with your meals or for two hours after completion of your meals. You may drink fluids right before meals, slow down your eating and chew especially well. Make sure all meals contain a protein, a healthy fat and fiber (flax seed meal). This combination will make you feel full. Let me know. Sincerely, Abby Do you have a question for Abby? Send your inquires to: AbbysHealthAndNutrition@yahoo.com Did You Know?
