70 | AD Today 2019 | ALL IN ALL IN FOR THE COMMUNITY: LEADING BY EXAMPLE Winners of AD Giving Back Awards discuss why it's important to support the community and how they implement the ideal of giving back in their company culture. Getting involved in the local community has long been a top priority for AD members and supplier partners, who frequently organize company-wide community service days, encourage their associates to volunteer and incorporate giving back into their company's core values. According to recent research from the organization America's Charities, the benefits of giving back to the local community extend not only to those being helped, but also to the associates who are making the effort: • Nearly three-quarters of all employees surveyed deemed it either 'imperative' or 'very important' to work for a company whose culture is supportive of giving and volunteering. • 89% of businesses surveyed believe that partnering with reputable charities leverages their ability to improve the community. • 90% of businesses surveyed believe that partnering in the community enhances their brand. The following AD members and supplier partners, who have all received Giving Back Awards for outstanding dedication to their local communities, discuss their corporate support of local causes and the benefits their efforts drive for community members and company employees alike.
