From the desk of our Managing Editor Peter K. Karydis This issue of Abby's Magazine addresses the ever rising epidemic of overweight and obesity at all ages. Being Greek and having been raised in a Greek family, overea ng was a way of life. Ea ng was a pleasure and part of our tradi ons… actually part of every tradi on! You've seen the movie… "You're not hungry? It's OK eat something!" As a ma er of fact, I started working out when I was a teenager just so I can eat and not so I can be healthy. Later on, when my brother Victor got involved with Abby's, our nutri on lifestyle began to change dras cally and over the last twenty plus years we have made a complete u-turn. Our Greek family s ll thinks there is something wrong with us when we don't fill our plate and do not eat dessert. But we wouldn't change it for the world! Many things can be helpful with weight loss such as a good and healthy diet but let's face it, if we do not make a Lifestyle-Change, the results will be disappoin ng and/or short-lived.
