RARE 1998 CMC EVEL KNIEVEL LIMITED EDITION CRUISER WAS FOR SALE! One of only 50 California Motorcycle Company Evel Knievel Limited Edi on cruisers has surfaced on the open market for $23K Evel Knievel. U ering his hallowed name was the only introduc on Americana's legendary stuntman ever needed. Over the course of his career, Evel – real name Robert Craig Knievel – a empted more than 75 career jumps, with the majority of his stunts performed upon Harley- Davidson's XR-750 motorcycle. With such brand associa on, this 1998 California Motor Company limited edi on remains somewhat of a curiosity. Renowned for employing Harleys and the Triumph Bonneville, Knievel then signed with the new marque in 1997 to release an Evel Knievel-inspired Motorcycle. However, this was no stunt bike. You wouldn't want to a empt any stunt ac on from behind the handlebars, for the 1998 California Motor Company Evel Knievel Limited Edi on was launched as a V-twin cruiser conceived to wage war on the streets. Signed by the daredevil on both the tank dash plate and seat, the special cruiser was draped with American flag mo fs and powered courtesy of an S&S 88 cubic-inch powerplant offering 75-horsepower. As far as cruiser bikes go, this one cked all the boxes on paper. This one is produc on bike number 27. Having undergone a comprehensive restora on, we would wager that the asking price of $22,900 (or $359 per month) is somewhat of a bargain. Especially as other surviving specimens o en command upwards of $40k. Also included in the sale is the original California Motorcycle Company owners manual, copy of its California tle, warranty informa on and a pre-delivery inspec on sheet from CMC. While most of Evel's bikes lurk behind museum display glass or reside within private collec ons, this is one you can enjoy and ride instead of simply admiring. The President Pro Tempore, Senator Brent Hill, ini ally responded by apologizing for any inconvenience, but the policy going forward was not clearly stated in his response. So ABATE of Idaho pressed forward reques ng an explicit policy. Senator Hill responded in wri ng that individuals wearing motorcycle club colors would not be denied access to Idaho Senate Chambers going forward. Although S1109, which would have prohibited motorcycle profiling, failed by one vote on the floor of the Senate this year, this incident and outcome move motorcyclists one step closer to legisla ve protec on and further reinforces the importance of figh ng back. 2019 RIDE THE DREAM CHARITY RUN, FRIDAY, JUNE 21, 2019 FROM 10:00 AM TO 5:00 PM HOSTED BY LAS VEGAS DREAM CENTER Join Bikers from 5 states riding to Vegas for a local run, outdoor bike show, food, fellowship & Live music, MC'S MM'S. UTAH PASSES MOTORCYCLE LANE-SPLITTING LEGISLATION Utah became the second U.S. state to formally recognize a type of lane spli ng, with the governor's signature on a bill legalizing the filtering of motorcycles between lanes of stopped traffic. "This is a major victory for motorcyclists in Utah and across the country," said Mike Sayre, on-highway government rela ons manager for the American Motorcyclist Associa on. "As more states acknowledge the benefits of lane spli ng, motorcyclists can become safer on the roads, and motorists can find some relief from traffic conges on."
