Send your inquires to: Recently, I have read several articles about Vitamin D. I am a healthy 55-year old woman. How much Vitamin D3 should I be taking and should it be Vitamin D3? -Helena Dear Helena, It is a good idea to get your Vitamin D3 blood levels measured. Most of my new clients have very low D3 levels. The range from most labs is 30 to 100. I believe 60 or more is excellent. Once you know your levels, you can adjust your intake to reach your target. What are your suggestions for anxiety and stress? Thank you. -Carol Dear Carol, I highly recommend the coenzymated B complex by Country Life. Take 2 or 3 upon arising and 1 or 2 at 3:00 pm. Stress causes depletion in the B vitamins. B vitamin depletion causes increase in stress. To reduce anxiety, inositol powder by Jarrow is great! Take ¼ tsp in water 3-4 times a day. At bedtime, place ¼ tsp of the powder directly in the mouth. It has a light sugary taste. I just read a brief article that stated when B12 is combined with almost any other vitamin, it's destroyed during the digestion process. Is there any truth to this claim? -Hank Dear Hank, The only problem with B12 absorption occurs in some elderly people who lack a substance known as "intrinsic factor" produced in the duodenum. Those people need to get injections or take the sublingual form which dissolves in the mouth. Methylcobalamin is the preferred superior form. We have been drinking fluoridated artesian water for years, ever since it was supposed to help my children with tooth decay. I just recently read of the dangers of fluoride. It sounds like we should stop. Is that true? Thanks. -Myrna Dear Myrna, I can't advise you specifically relative to your well water. I can share with you that I advise my clients to avoid fluorine, such as that in toothpaste. Many of my clients will use a reverse filtration system to help lessen fluoride levels for cooking and drinking. My family and my clients actively avoid fluoride. Dear Abby, I have been diagnosed with "essential tremors", which runs in my family. Any suggestions? I have found the following protocol useful: • Taurine (1000 mg) AM and PM on an empty stomach. • Magnesium asporotate taken in divided doses to bowel tolerance. • Coenzymated B complex on empty stomach upon wakening. • Inositol powder ¼ teaspoon (600 mg) several times during the day. • Methylcobalamin 5000 mg sublingual daily. Trying this for several weeks and then re-evaluating is my suggestion. Dear Abby, Are there any supplements for injury caused arthritis? -Bob Dear Bob, I recommend a timed-released buffered vitamin C to be taken along with proline and lysine in the morning and evening to keep your blood level of vitamin C high. Vitamin C hydroxylates proline to produce hydroxyproline, the main constituent of collagen and also hydroxylates lysine resulting in hydroxylysine, raising elastin to improve tissue elasticity. In addition, MSM and Hyaluronic Acid support articular cartilage. Controlling inflammation is important. Turmeric with high curcuminoids works well. Dear Abby, I am a 62-year-old very active female. I take a lot of immune enhancing supplements. I have avoided all vaccinations in the past. What is your advice on the shingles, pneumonia, and flu vaccines? -Ruth Dear Ruth, I advise you to research as much as possible all the new data about vaccines. Recently learning about the presence of Nagalase (a protein made by viruses and cancer cells) has made me very wary. I do not know if all vaccines contain Nagalase, but I myself do not recommend them until all this information has been released.
