Abby's Magazine - Volume 5 Issue 2| Page 59 ADAM, or Androgen Decline in Aging Males, also known as andropause is a condition in older men resulting from a decrease in testosterone. Andropause does not happen to every man, but if it does, it is not a sudden condition. It comes on gradually, is fairly common and chances of getting it increase with age. Male testosterone levels drop about 10% every 10 years, starting at about age 30. Simultaneously, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) increases attaching to testosterone in circulation rendering it inactive. As men age and put on more belly fat, aromatase increases converting testosterone as well as DHEA into estrogens. DHEA may already be low due to adrenal fatigue resulting from stress. Insulin resistance and diabetes often accompany testosterone hyperaromatization. How to help ADAM Myomin, an aromatase reducer, is a safe and effective way to correct hyperaromatization. It reduces belly fat and raises testosterone. Diet, exercise and supplementation to eliminate insulin resistance is best to not only remove any chance of type 2 diabetes, but to drastically slow or eradicate insulin resistance associated testosterone (and DHEA) hyperaromatization. What About ADAM Aromatase is an enzyme responsible for a key step in the synthesis of estrogens. It is responsible for the aroma za on of androgens (compounds that s mulate or control male characteris cs). Androgens are precursors to all estrogen in men and women. The primary and most well known androgen is testosterone. What is Aromatase & Hyperaromatization Hyperaroma za on is defined as excess conversion of testosterone into estrogens. Insulin resistance almost always accompanies testosterone hyperaroma za on. Men and women who are overweight, diabe cs or taking testosterone beware. Men with low testosterone, low libido, lessening muscle tone, difficulty losing weight, and gynecomas a (breast enlargement) likely have hyperaroma za on.
