where they plant their own seedlings or starter plants; a craft that is a farm theme; an insect search, catch, examine and release activity; chicken coop and care observation and discussion and a wonderful healthy snack compliments of Abby's. Our education agenda has extended to several other areas this year that we are proud to be a part. We have our first "Bright Futures" student that is volunteering at the farm as part of his community hours to qualify When Abby and Victor started their vision at the farm, it had to be connected to their overall vision at Abby's Health and Nutrition, which is "Better Health through Education". The most important aspect of the dream they had and most significant element of what we do at the farm became a reality this fall. We announced our fall offering of field trips at the farm, at a homeschool conference in Pinellas County attended by our education director Nancy Niemann and fellow volunteer Dianne Hess. The response was overwhelming because of the significant network used by homeschool parents to find the best and most interesting learning opportunities for their children. Subsequently, the farm has booked field trips all the way into December for various groups and just recently penciled in our first spring field trip for 2017!!!! Our field trips include a hayride/tour of the farm with detailed descriptions of our farm activities (composting, permaculture, raised beds, tower gardens, fruit trees, Moringa grove, etc.) as well as a birds eye view of the physical attributes of our beautiful landscape; a greenhouse planting experience, Abby's Farm is all about Education ...
