"Once upon a time…" is perhaps the most magical phrase in the English language. For live entertainment, it is that incredibly neat moment just as the house lights come to half as we prepare for a blackout just before the performance begins. It is the anticipation of what is about to start… WELCOME TO THE LONG CENTER. WELCOME TO EXCITEMENT. (featuring the stars of the Whose Line is it? television show) to Cirque Dreams Holidaze to National Geographic Live, from Dixie's Tupperware Party to One-Man Star Wars Trilogy, there is something at the Long Center for every single member of your family. Both the young and young at heart will love our Zoppe Italian Family Circus (performed under an honest-to-goodness circus tent on our West Lawn!) and our Dinosaur Petting Zoo, which will be staged on the spectacular City Terrace. Ballet Folklorico de Mexico and Australia's Tap Dogs will forever change the way you feel about dance. We have a new series featuring the Austin Symphony Orchestra in a way that you have never seen them before – Rock-a-LONG Wednesdays will feature classic rock music from Pink Floyd to Queen to Led Zeppelin. If you love Broadway musicals, don't miss Spamalot and Rock of Ages. I only have space to mention a few of the more than 30 incredible shows in our fifth anniversary season – our biggest yet! I am so proud to welcome you to the Long Center's fifth anniversary season, my first as your CEO. We have a spectacular line-up which features something for everybody. From The Price Is Right, Live!TM , (not a typo) to Whose Live Anyway? The gift of live performance lasts long after the curtain comes down. In many ways we are in the memory business here at the Long Center and this coming season is designed to create many lasting memories for you and your family. With the very busy lives that we lead, please take some time to review our season brochure. You deserve to create some new Long Center memories this season and they all start when you are comfortably seated…"once upon a time…fade to black…go" Jamie Grant Executive Director and CEO Long Center for the Performing Arts
