2020 VISION 28 C O R E V A L U E S | C H R I S T C E N T E R E D 3 4 5 6 7 We will join together regularly at chapels and in devotions as a faith community (administrators, teachers, coaches, staff, and students) to worship, celebrate, and encourage one another in our journey Christ-ward. We recognize the biblical centrality of the local church as God's primary instrument in the spiritual growth of students and families. Therefore, we will cultivate healthy partnerships with churches to support the reality that Linfield is not an adequate substitute for regular church attendance or Bible study and prayer in the home. We will develop and offer co-curricular opportunities designed to activate spiritual growth through Service, Leadership, Adventure, Missions, and Outreach (SLAMO). We will teach Bible classes across all grade levels, believing that students should not only learn what it teaches, but that they should also grow in the depth of their understanding so that the Word of God becomes alive and impacts their lives. Bible courses are designed to be interactive and enjoyable while boldly delving into the truth of Scripture; students engage in honest conversation and wrestle together with what it truly means to follow Jesus. Jesus Christ's example reveals that prayer is an essential requirement for a relationship with God. Therefore, prayer is an integral part of Linfield life, throughout classrooms, on athletic fields, in meetings, in the board room, and in the lives of every member of the community. In particular, Linfield's faculty and staff commit to pray for our students and families, and we seek and appreciate the prayers of our families on behalf of the school. 1 2 THIS MEANS: We will integrate faith and learning in the curriculum of all subjects so that the pursuit of knowledge supports a Christian worldview, since all truth is ultimately God's truth. As students learn to see the world from God's perspective, they begin to experience true spiritual formation. This is sometimes a slow and uneven process, so we are patient and steady, having been grateful recipients of God's grace and love throughout our own journeys. We will hire administrators, teachers, coaches, and staff who are active and authentic followers of Jesus Christ, who are expressly aligned with Linfield's mission, and whose lives are marked by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
