The most difficult thing to face is the daily reminder that my life is no longer my own. How can I focus when my instinct screams at the slightest sign of danger? I am always afraid that something is about to go horribly wrong, causing harm to myself or those around me. I live on high alert, watching for danger even though I am just sitting home. Constant worry is unsettling; the sign of a woman wearing a burka, the sound of a child crying, airplanes and helicopters flying overhead trigger panic. I am thankful for the care of our local VA hospital staff. Most recently I have discovered a suicide prevention program call SAVE A WARRIOR. I learned to meditate, breathe, and refocus my attentions. It has taken me fourteen years to come close to for me to come close enough to my healing to move on and attempt this this game of life. I am ready again to help others. I am far better prepared for the wounds that war inflicts on the heart, mind, body, and soul. The overwhelming obstacles and nightmares no longer seem insurmountable. Instead, it seems a very realistic possibility that my struggles may be used to helping other veterans. I have not arrived. I am always a work in progress. I understand more now, now knowing what a vetera n or first responder goes through. It is by the grace of God that I am still here. The blackouts and memory loss, anxiety and fears are becoming less and less. I, along with other survivors, deeply appreciate your understanding and love. Please pray for my wife Kelly and I as we travel down this road to wholeness. b WHEELS OF GRACE TV COMING IN 2022 WHEELS OF GRACE MEDIA MORE THAN A MOTORCYCLE MAGAZINE
