Claim The City Abner (Yoda) Octtaviani President, BSHDFC Miami, FL "I have given you every place where the sole of your foot will tread, just as I promised to Moses." (Joshua 1:3) How would a biker interpret that verse? I have given you every place where your tires roll, just as I promised to Moses. Well, I say amen to that!!! Recently the Miami flock of Black Sheep Harley Davidsons for Christ completed the second lap of our Claim the City for Jesus rides. CTC rides consist of a crack of dawn ride to a couple of destinations where we can stop, park, pray and keep it moving to our next stop. Sounds simple right? That's exactly what it is, a simple exercise of believing what God has told us and putting our faith to work. It was back in August of 2021 when Bamm Bamm, our now chapter VP and I got together for break of dawn breakfast ride and as we rode around the city waiting to catch the sunrise, I felt God speaking to my heart, reminding me of the story of the Israelites and the falling walls of Jericho. Chapter 6 of the Book of Joshua tells the story of how God delivered Jericho to the people of Israel after 7 days of marching around the walled city of Jericho. As we rode around the city and made a stop in Las Olas Beach in Fort Lauderdale, I thought about how awesome it would be to ride around the areas our chapter of Black Sheep wants to reach in ministry and just stopping to pray for God to open doors and set up divine encounters that would lead to the eventual growth and expansion of BSHDFC in Florida. Our first CTC ride was in October 2021 where we stopped at Miramar, Weston, and Davie in Broward County. Chapter 6 of Joshua describes how the chosen people of God would march around the city while the priests would be sounding the trumpets all the time. In our case the only sound that was breaking out through the dawn was the sound of instruments of war, our Harleys. The sound of V&H or Cobra Neighbor Hater exhausts are what our trumpets sound like. As we made our way through the city, we proclaimed that Jesus would be exalted through the ministry of BSHDFC and that our newly formed chapter would be showered with grace and favor from above so that we could continue to forge long lasting and meaningful relationships with our HOG members and dealership family. Our second CTC ride was at the beginning of February, and it was beautiful. Once again, we started at 5am in the dark, taking advantage of the cool morning weather just like Joshua and his army did. Our exhausts sounding out and proclaiming the victory God has in store for us. We were blessed by a divine encounter with a Miami Dade law enforcement officer at our first stop who not only allowed us to park there but honored us by joining in our prayer. Our encounter with officer Mark in Palmetto Bay, a brother in the faith, was confirmation that our prayers for divine encounters were already being answered. Hallelujah!! After praying with and for officer mark we continued to stop by Coconut Abner Octtaviani
