2019 will remain a special year for us: Fi een years since we got married, a new family with Black Sheep members, a three week trip to Lebanon to serve disabled people, and perhaps a Road King with a side car... I never could have imagined that a few years ago. God's will is very strange some mes! As a conclusion, thanks for accep ng us into your family, thanks for suppor ng us with your messages, emails and prayers, thanks for all what you do for us. And if you want to visit France, our home is your home! Submi ed by April J. Marquis Inland NW BSHDFC On the weekend of August 9th our chapter gathered for a me of fellowship, mentorship and an opportunity to bless a local church in Colville, WA. Two of the church families graciously opened their home and provided hospitality to our en re chapter. We began fresh on Saturday morning, conduc ng our regular monthly mee ng with prayer, followed by all of the usual business and planning. We were a room filled with ministry-minded individuals ready and willing to serve Christ through Black Sheep. That evening, two of our HOG members joined us. They had previously suffered a total loss of their home in a fire and our chapter has been building rela onships with them ever since. The couple had endured a long road of healing but is now approaching the final stages of their new home. As a ministry, we will be pain ng the interior and exterior of their new home to help cut their costs. On Saturday evening, two more Sheep joined us a er having visited our Central Oregon chapter. As a chapter, we had been given another opportunity to demonstrate Christ's love by suppor ng a grieving husband and now single father. We listened to our two members as they conveyed the love, kindness, and faithful ac ons showered upon the man by our Oregon brothers and sisters along with other BSHDFC chapters. We listened as they read the man's words of gra tude and awe for our ministry's generosity. He could not comprehend complete strangers showering him with such kindness. It was a moment we realized the power of the Holy Spirit connec ng and uni ng us together. We are not single chapters opera ng alone, but an interconnected network of believers who lean on one another to accomplish God's will in mighty ways. Sunday morning, we rode through the rain and freshly chip-sealed backroads to the Colville Free Methodist Church. Bikes lined the street in front of the main steps as we warmly greeted every person we met. The message that morning was focused on the divine Holiness of God and the power of the Holy Spirit within each of us. Words of discipleship flowed out, encouraging us as believers to be bold in sharing the Gospel. A church patron noted the importance BSHDFC E-Mag September 2019 | Page 5 of "cas ng our nets" into unlikely places and to always be ready to hear God's voice. The weekend evolved into a me of building deeper connec ons between members while engaging in meaningful ministry with others. Our newest mentees, Dave and Sharon, received a warm welcome for their first official mentorship mee ng that Sunday a ernoon. They were surrounded by Black Sheep family who spoke of feeling compelled to this ministry and making life-long commitments to serve humbly in unique and unexpected ways. We listened to our founder's tes mony on video and once again felt the power of God through his words. Despite our many diverse backgrounds and different denomina ons, it was a weekend of hearts united in our desire to serve our Heavenly Father.
