The course leverages resources already available in our lab by incorporating the ISTA Fork Lift Handling Course (ISTA PROCEDURE 3B Version 2015). For all variations of the testing the products travel one round trip (forward/reverse) with a targeted travel time of 10 seconds per direction. Products that are not on casters travel the course on a four wheeled cart that is used commonly on Lexmark's campus for transporting printers that are not on casters, see picture 5. Products on casters travel the course using their casters only. However, due to the size of the casters and height of the steel plates the printers could not travel the course as is. To allow the course to be used, a ¼ inch polycarbonate insert was created to fit in the course which allows the products with casters to travel both directions, see picture 6. For the Hardware Return or Relocation testing the products travel the course by pallet jack on a 24" x 20" stringer style pallet. Vibration Test: Vibration testing is used in both New Device Install and Hardware Return or Relocation testing. All of the units currently are vibrated on the bottom only for 10 minutes with an overall Grms of 1.091, see Table 1 (Xerox 063 – 3397 – 00 REV A). This vibration profile was chosen after reviewing several profiles from research of other test specifications.
