Current Test Outline: Through the knowledge gained during customer site visits and internal cross functional collaboration with Product Assurance and Development Engineering, there are now two sets of test procedures currently being used and continually developed. The test specification outlines two test paths, one for new device installations with a separation for devices on casterbases, and a second for relocation or return of devices. The new device installs are performed without packaging. The relocation or return of devices incorporates a pallet to which the printer is secured with stretch wrap. Several of the tests included in the testing outlined below are current testing procedures used by the Product Assurance team in the Lexmark Product Assurance Handling Drop Test (2007-00010). These include the Multi-Function Product (MFP) Lift Test, MFP Lean Test, and New Device Install Shock Test. MFP's are printers that include scanners. It made sense to incorporate these into the new test outline as they are part of the handling that occurs moving the device to its installed location. The following table outlines the 3 test procedures as they currently stand. 1A: New Device Install 1. Handling Course – 4 Wheeled Cart 2. Vibration Test 3. Handling Course – 4 Wheeled Cart 4.
