Della Powell True Grit Kettlebell Gym 4895 W. Waters Ave. Tampa, FL 33634 (813) 785-6634 8. Having said that, I believe on the go snacks are a great thing. My point is, sometimes you will get caught without them. Teach your children responsibility. Designate a child to prepare snacks. Teach them where they are and simplify by staying consistent. To stay within your budget never ever allow your children to eat your "on the go" snacks at home. Even when they moan that there is nothing else. Stay consistent on this one, or they will wear you down. Two of my favorite on the go snacks are Let's Date and Hop, Step and Jump bars. Not only are these local companies, but also I know the owners and know their integrity and passion for superb ingredients. Both are available at Abby's. 9. Many of us can't afford 100% organic. We mustn't use that to make excuses. Always do the best you can. I guarantee when you make a decision to increase the quality, you will see more opportunities. It has happened over and over in my life. 10. Teach your children the reason why, and teach them to say "No thank you". As they grow, they are oen with friends and family that don't have the same standards. Teach your children that their body is growing. It has a blue print for that growth, but just like a building, it needs the proper supplies to grow healthy and strong. It's their body. Once their body is grown, some things can't be undone. 11. Eat less. We consume way too much food in America. I frequently serve meals on luncheon plates. Have your children drink a glass of water before dinner. is way they don't over eat when their body is actually thirsty. Also, make use of affordable organic foods that are great fillers, such as potatoes, rice and beans or nuts, just to name a few. 12. Have a handful of favorite salad recipes, such as tabouli, that can stay refrigerated for several days. ese can be used for lunch or a ready-made dinner side dish. 13. Don't beat yourself up when you fall off the wagon. Quickly reboot and move forward! Life has gotten intensely complicated. We naturally assume that the answers and solutions are also extremely compli- cated and difficult. e good news is that is not true. ere is so much written on the problems, and it is important to keep abreast of the snags that can cause illness, weakness and disease. Keeping solutions simple is the only long- term effective method for about 99% of us. Most of all, be kind to yourself. Your family may moan, but I promise you they will see and feel the difference and take these habits into their adult lives.
