ASK Abby I am looking for something that can help me rid my skin of flat warts. I understand they are formed from a virus that may never leave my system. I have dozens of them on my legs. Are there any products topical or supplemental that work? - Vandy Dear Vandy, I recommend "Virasyl" as an antiviral; it works best on an empty stomach, 2 or 3 upon awakening (wait 30 minutes before eating) and 2 or 3 at bedtime (empty stomach) for at least ten days. A topical wart remover containing thuja oil works well if applied regularly. Apply with a cotton swab to avoid spreading the virus. In addition, add a supplement to strengthen your immune system and keep the virus dormant. Sincerely, Abby What are your suggestions for anxiety and stress? Thank you. - Carol Dear Carol, I highly recommend the coenzymated B complex by Country Life. Take 2 or 3 upon arising and 1 or 2 at 3:00pm. Stress causes depletion in the B vitamins. B vitamin depletion causes increase in stress. To reduce anxiety, inositol powder by Jarrow is great! Take ¼ tsp in water 3-4 times a day. At bedtime place ¼ tsp of the powder directly in the mouth. It has a light sugary taste. Sincerely, Abby My son is 9 years old, weighs 53lbs, has autism and suffers from H. pylori in his stomach and very bad heartburn after every meal. Also, he has rumination syndrome. Thank you for any help. - Kathryn Dear Kathryn, I have found colloidal silver by Soverign Silver to successfully remove H. pylori. For your son, 2 teaspoons 4 times daily in divided Abby offers Free Consultations - Please call (813) 996-6999 Monday - Friday from 10 am - Noon to make your appointment Do you have a question for Abby? Send your inquires to: AbbysHealthAndNutrition@yahoo.com doses (tastes like water) for ten days. A probiotic should be used after the silver is done. H. pylori can invade the stomach wall if the protective layer has been compromised. A great product to repair the stomach lining is Digestron by Dr. Chi. If need be, the capsules can be opened and placed in a small amount of applesauce just before meals. It is important that your son not drink liquids while eating solid meals. He should chew each bite thoroughly to help with digestion. Digestron enhances digestive enzyme production and may improve his rumination syndrome. Let me know how this works. Sincerely, Abby I am a 63 year old male and my waist has gradually increased even though my weight has stayed the same. Also, I am starting to show signs of gynecomastia, flabbier chest/breast area plus itchy nipples. Do you think the gyne symptoms can be reversed with DIM? How about Arimidex? Any suggestions would be appreciated. - Howard Dear Howard, Your situation is a common issue for men as they age. With long term stress and elevated cortisol your belly fat increases and increases aromatase, an enzyme that converts your testosterone to the estrogen – estradiol. I suggest a natural herbal product called "Myomin" which reduces the aromatase in the belly fat. Myomin will balance your hormones – decrease estrogens and raise testosterone. Your gynecomastia will disappear. DIM may be helpful to assist your liver's removal of excess estrogens. You may want your doctor to test your estrogen and testosterone levels so you can track your improvement. Sincerely, Abby I have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia and would like to know what can help. - Derek Dear Derek, You can do a great deal with your diet to stabilize your blood sugar levels. Each meal should contain sufficient protein, healthy fats and fiber. You may need to start with small amounts of fiber and increase gradually. Flaxseed meal, chia seeds and hemp seeds are excellent choices. Protein, fat and fiber as part of each meal or snack will slow blood glucose rise. Also, if needed, Glucose Optimizer by Jarrow will assist your blood sugar stabilization. Sincerely, Abby Recently, I have read several articles about Vitamin D. I am a healthy 55 year old woman. How much Vitamin D3 should I be taking and should it be Vitamin D3? - Helena Dear Helena, It is a good idea to get your Vitamin D3 blood levels measured. Most of my new clients have very low D3 levels. The range from most labs is 30 to 100. I believe 60 or more is excellent. Once you know your levels, you can adjust your intake to reach your target.
