www.northeastern.com  |  Northeastern Exposure 25 – 2 9 Wilmer began his NE career as a delivery driver at the age of 19 and worked his way up through various positions until he attained the role of Branch Manager at the Elkton and Middletown branch locations. When he started, NE only had two stores and Wilmer said, "I have seen the growth through the years and it has been amazing to watch. And it remains amazing as I watch NE grow," and he sees NE continuing to grow in the future. For Wilmer, "NE was a job but it wasn't a job — I loved coming into work and seeing my customers and helping John Cook." And the NE family from delivery drivers to staff to CEO Steve Cook were grateful for his dedication and hard work, and his customers were equally grateful for his dedication to THEM. Rodney Wilmer has retired, though he said, "While I am still around, if anyone at NE or my customers need my help, I won't hesitate to help." It is that dedication that has the NE family congratulate him for the past 47 years and publicly thank him for his service to NE, its customers and the community. Happy retirement, Rodney, and thank you from Northeastern Supply. WILMER RODNEY Thank y TOY DRIVE NE's annual Holiday Toy drive was a success, thanks to our employees who showed their giving spirit. This year, NE worked with Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS.org), whose intensive in-home services are designed to improve family dynamics, preventing out-of-home placement and assisting those returning home from out-of-home placement. For the drive, NE donated four large boxes full of toys and we give special thanks to all of our employees for their inspirational generosity and thoughtfulness during this holiday season. CITY SLICKER BALL In October, at the Carroll County Agriculture Center, NE was involved in the City Slickers Ball event to help to raise money for Children's Road to Recovery — dedicated to helping critically ill children. The nonprofit helps offset costs for families with critically ill children by providing transportation, lodging and meals — anything in regard to the financial burdens that come with a family having a critically ill child in the hospital. NE was proud to help the fund-raiser. #CitySlickersBall #NEgivesback NE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Additionally, NE is an outreach supporter at such organizations as Ducks Unlimited, Boys and Girls Clubs of Harford County, The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, SARC (The Sexual Assault/ Spouse Abuse Resource Center), Skipjack Heritage Inc., Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Cool Kids Campaign and Homecoming Project Inc. These are all fine organizations and worthy of our (and your) support. www.northeastern.com/ community-outreach FACTORY TOUR In addition to community care and fun events, we share with our customers, including a sporting clay event at Schraders Outdoors, training classes in various product installation and use, along with counter days and sales. NE also encourages and helps in the education of our customers. We do this by hosting training classes and factory tours, among other programs. At our American Standard/Ingersoll Rand Furnace Factory Tour in Trenton, NJ, we brought an outstanding group of customers to see how the products are made, giving them background on the products they use and sell to their customers. NE Cares — but it all starts with YOU, our customers. We are in this together and we appreciate you.
