10 ista views • July 2016 • www.ista.org ISTA's First Asia-Pacific Packaging Symposium ISTA held its first Asia Pacific Packaging Symposium in Seoul, Korea on April 28 of this year. The symposium was hosted by ISTA and the Korea Society of Packaging Science & Technology (KOPAST) and was supported by Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Korea Packaging Center, Korea Conformity Lab, Korea Food Cluster, LogisAll, and Kyungyon Exhibition Company. 66 professionals and students from six different countries were in attendance. The event was held in conjunction with Korea Pack which is the largest packaging exhibition in Asia. Filling the Symposium program were 10 high quality presenters and presentations discussing a range of topics including measuring the distribution environment, lab testing, distribution packaging development, cold chain, and medical packaging. Attendees enjoyed an official dinner and networking to conclude the daylong event. The Asia-Pacific Board is discussing dates to hold the next Asia-Pacific Packaging Symposium.
